If for some you have been living under a rock these past few days, social media users have taken to Google+ to release their frustrations at Apple for causing the courts to place a ban on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The hash tag, #BoycottApple first started trending June 30th and has not stopped since. Here is the most popular post trending on day 6 of #BoycottApple:
One of he more interesting post relating to #BoycottApple comes from a user named Matthew Ary who writes:
You are destroying the ability for Americans to innovate, drive progress, invent, and think differently. You started this mess and now we all have to clean it up.” Which is followed by the picture below:
From this Google Plus post, a user by the name of Lincoln Maurice suggest that ” there’s been less innovation by Apple in light of their litigious nature in these last two or three years. By contrast, they’re letting smartphone marketshare slip through their fingers by having their eyes off the ball.
And that’s what happens when your innovation poster boy passes away… Granted, Jobs was just as angered by the opposition making similar stuff, but for some reason, it didn’t get this messy then.”
Eventually, what appears to be an Apple supporter joins in on the conversation, Andres Kievsky points out that “you guys forget that Motorola sued Apple over patents in 2010. Where’s Boycott Motorola? Android Fanbois are pathetic. You should not be allowed to operate any Turing-complete device.”
