With the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple is stepping out of their comfort zone. The iPhone 6 will feature a 4.7-inch display. The iPhone 6 Plus will feature a 5.5-inch display. The iPhone 6 will feature a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. The iPhone 6 Plus will feature a resolution of 1080p HD resolution and a pixel density of 401 ppi.
Bigger Screens, Thinner Bodies
Both the iPhone 6 and its Plus counterpart are slimmer than previous models. The iPhone 6 measures in at 6.9 millimeters thick. The iPhone 6 Plus measures in at 7.1 millimeters thick.
Due to the sudden expansion of screen real estate, there will be a compatibility mode for apps that haven’t been updated for the screens. Apple will also include software to make one-handed use available.
While the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has better battery life expectations on paper, Apple said that they both will either have similar battery life or better compared to the iPhone 5S.
The battery life on the iPhone 5S wasn’t too great. Samsung even criticized iPhone users as wall huggers.
The new iPhone 6s will feature an 8 mega-pixel camera. This is the same amount of mega-pixels found on the iPhone 5S. Apple claims that this version of the camera has been dramatically improved. The iPhone 6 Plus has seen the biggest improvement. It’s Apple’s first phone with optical image stabilization.
Price and Availability
The lowest price will be for the 16GB iPhone 6. It will lift $199 from your wallet if you buy it on contract. The iPhone 6 Plus will run you $299 on contract for the 64GB model. By increase the base price of each iPhone, you can get the option of more gigs up to the max of 128GB.
Both iPhones will be available on September 19th, but pre-orders will be available on Friday the 12th.
